Travel Logistics
Many countries do not require visas for you to enter Mexico but they often will ask for what date you are leaving and for proof of return flight at the airport, they may also ask for proof of accommodation when entering, although this is not always the case. Depending on which passport you hold you will normally be able to stay in Mexico for up to 180 days. In recent times, as tourism and people overstaying visas has increased, this has changed and they are issuing shorter visas even if you may qualify for the 180 day visa. If you want to obtain a stamp that allows you to stay fro 180 days you may need to show you have accommodation booked for that entire period as well as return flights towards the end of that 180 day period. How to get to Bonobo
You will have 3 main options from the airport
- Take an airport taxi from just outside the terminal, this is the fastest and also the most expensive. Cost: 350-450 pesos for entire taxi
- Take the airport collectivo. These are vans and can be found just outside the terminal and will be cheaper than the taxi but also may take up to 45 minutes to get to Villa Bonobo, depending on where the other passengers need to be dropped off. Cost: 50-100 pesos per person
- Walk down to the highway and get a taxi there. The walk down to the highway is about 350m and there you will find taxis that can take you. Cost: 250-300 pesos for entire taxi
When coming over the mountain in the collectivo you will change busses in a town called Pochutla, once on the new bus it is best not to take it all the way into town, you can get dropped off on the highway and it will be a 350m walk to Bonobo from there. This will save you having to take a taxi back from the center of town. Please message reception to ask for the location of where to get off if you are unsure. Cost of bus from Puchutla to Puerto: 70-120 pesos
From the Huatulco airport it is best to take a taxi to Bonobo, it is about a 2 hour drive depending on traffic, please contact our reception if you need help in organising a taxi to pick you up from the airport.
From the ADO station you will have two options to get to Bonobo
- Take a taxi from just outside the station, it can be beneficial to walk to the other side of the highway or maybe even to the OXXO across the street so that you are already heading in the correct direction when you get into the taxi. Cost: 120-180 pesos
- walk to the other side of the highway and get onto on of the blue pickup trucks or ‘collectivo’. Try to make sure the collectivo has the words ´La Barra´ or ´el cine´ on the front, as this means they will take you all the way to the hostel. You will them take the collectivo for 10-15 minutes and get off at the ´el cine´. You will need to tell the driver to stop at the correct place and please ask reception if you are unsure where this is. you will then need to walk about 10 minutes to get the Bonobo. Cost: 10 pesos per person.
There are two main options to get to Bonobo
- Take a taxi directly from where you are staying, this is the easiest but most expensive option and prices may vary depending on season and availability
- Take a taxi or collectivo to the highway, this will take between 15 and 30 minutes depending where you are travelling from. once at the highway you cantata a bus, they are white and blue. Once on the new bus it is best not to take it all the way into Puerto, you can get dropped off on the highway and it will be a 350m walk to Bonobo from there. This will save you having to take a taxi back from the center of town. Please message reception to ask for the location of where to get off if you are unsure. Cost of bus from Mazunte highway to Puerto: 50-100 pesos
Services
Breakfast is included in all the room options if you are staying in Villa Bonobo. The breakfast is served every day between 9-10AM.
The breakfast is not included if you are staying in the Bonobo Living Apartments, but you can have breakfast at Villa Bonobo for a fee of 150 pesos per day if you choose.
The included breakfast changes daily and ranges from eggs and toast to enchiladas, French toast. There is also always granola and cereal available as well as coffee and a selection of teas.
Yes there is Wifi throughout the house, it is satellite Wifi in Villa Bonobo and LAN Wifi in the Bonobo Living Apartments.
All of the staff can speak English and a decent level of Spannish.
We do not have a restaurant on the premises but the kitchen is open for guests to use any time outside of the breakfast.
Yes! Our cleaning lady Araceli created her own little business and washes, dries and folds your clothes for 50$ MX the kilo, at her house. Please leave your clothes before 2pm at our reception (ask for availability as it depends on the wheater and amount of clothes she already got if she can do it till the next day). Please be aware that this service is external and needs to be paid to araceli with cash (change is very welcome)
Shampoo and conditioner is included and can be found in all the bathrooms in the house. We also have toothpaste and toothbrushes available for purchase at the reception.
All private rooms in Villa Bonobo have a safe inside the room for valuables. The Dorm has lockers for your valuables but you will need to bring your own lock.
Bonobo Living B does not have a safe inside the apartment. Bonobo living A has a single safe for the entire accommodation.
The Area
We are 1KM from La Punta beach and the walk takes between 12 to 20 minutes. Zicatela beach is approximately 4KM away and is a 10 minute ride in a taxi.
The closest ATM in in the centre of the town and is a 10 minute taxi or collectivo ride away. We strongly recommend withdrawing cash before coming to Puerto Escondido as there are no banks in the La Punta or Zicatela area. Although you can pay with cards in many places it is very helpful to have cash for activities like surf board rentals and eating at local restaurants.
Scooter rentals are possible and there are many options available from small 100-150cc scooters up to 250-300cc motorbikes that you can use for long journeys. Please ask reception for more details on scooter and bike rentals. All rentals will include helmets. Cost 250-500 pesos per day
Car rentals are possible in Puerto and there are a few companies that rent out cars. The cost will vary a lot depending on what type of car. We recommend reserving a car in advance if you would like to use this option, especially if you are coming in high season.
Along with cash we would also advise bringing a towel you can use to take to the beach. Sunblock is great to bring as the sun is very strong in Puerto. Mosquito spray is also a great thing to bring along as there are a lot of mosquitos in Puerto, especially at sunset!
Yes, we strongly advise you draw cash before coming to Puerto or in the centre before arriving on the La Punta side of the town. There are no ATMs close to La Punta and you will need cash for all of the tours or lessons, as well as for the taxis. It is also more convenient to use cash at the bars and nightclubs, even though they do offer card options at most of them.
The closest big supermarket is in the town and is about a 10 minutes car or motorbike ride away. There is an OXXO convenience store about 3 minutes walk away you need to buy basic necessities. There are also many clothing and fruit and vegetable shops 1KM away in La Punta.
The closest restaurant is a 2 minute walk away, it is a very basic place with some local options. La Punta, which is 1KM away has many options for bars and restaurants of all types and is a 15 minute walk or short taxi ride away. The nightclubs are all located in Zicatela and this is a 10 minute taxi ride from the accommodation.
Payment Options
We only accept cash in Mexican Pesos and we would recommend drawing cash before arriving in Puerto Escondido as the ATMs are in the centre of the town and a 10 minutes car or motorbike ride away.
We accept payments via the Stripe platform for all major credit cards, there is not extra fee for this form of payment. The payment can be done using a link sent to the e mail of your choice and can be made in any currency of your choice.
We accept all major debit and credit cards except Maestro. There is an extra charge of 4.5% on all card transactions. Unless you do a transfer directly from a Mexican bank, in which case no extra fees will be applied.
Policies and House Rules
Check in is at 3pm, if your room is ready before that we will let you know and you can happily check in earlier.
Check out at Villa Bonobo is at 12pm.
Check out at the Bonobo Living Apartments it is at 11am.
If you check out too late we will charge 100% of the next night as a fine, please make sure to be on time for the check out.
We are happy to receive you any time after 10.30am at Villa Bonobo, where you can leave your luggage and use our installations till your room is ready.
Villa Bonobo
The quiet time is from 10pm – 8am.
You are still allowed to use the pool if you manage to be silent, as we do not want the people sleeping next tot eh pool to be disturbed.
If you want to hang out and be social after 10pm we invite you to use our rooftop area where you can listen to low music also after 10pm.
Wednesdays and Saturdays we open our Bar at the rooftop and the quiet time is after 1am.
Bonobo Living Apartments
Quiet time is 10pm.
Be aware of your neighbors!
Outside guests can purchase a day pass to use our installations from 10am – 8pm.
We charge 200$MX and this includes the use of the pool, bathrooms, rooftop and of course our amazing Starlink internet.
Outside guests can also join our breakfast for 150$MX, which also includes coffee or tea. Please let us know in advance.
If you lose your key in the daytime you will lose your deposit of 100 pesos paid at the start of your stay. If your key is lost at night, between 8pm and 8am, and a member of staff needs to come to the house to open for you a fee of 350 pesos will be added onto the this amount.
Yes, we allow dogs but only after a pre casting.
Please let us know if you plan on bringing your best friend and send us a picture.
Villa Bonobo
We allow two small or middle size dogs in total at the property.
We don’t allow any kind of Pitbull or similar dogs at Villa Bonobo.
We charge 100$ MX per dog and night.
Bonobo Living Apartments
We allow any kind of pet at the apartments (max. 2).
We charge 100$ MX per dog and night.
We charge a security deposit of 1000$ in total for your stay, what will returned to you the day of your check out. The security deposit needs to be paid in cash.
Villa Bonobo is only adults. We don’t accept under persons under 18 years old.
At Bonobo Living Apartments we allow children of any age.
Please take care of your small ones, we are not responsible for any harm that may occur while staying at the property.
We give you the chance to fix it and can also help you with that. All unnecessary damage will be charged.
Take care of our house as it would be yours, we all share this home.
We sometimes give discounts on longterm stays depending on the individual situation (and time of the year). Please check with our Manager if you are interested. Don’t hesitate to ask.
Yes, even if you are not staying at Villa Bonobo, you can pay 200 pesos for a day pass. This includes the use of the pool, bathrooms, rooftop and of course our amazing Starlink internet. Please contact our reception if you are interested as you need to book in advance due to demand.

La mayoría de los países no necesitan visa para ingresar a México, pero al llegar es posible que les pidan la fecha de regreso y el vuelo que compruebe la salida del país, así como comprueba de su reserva para su instancia. A segunda de tu nacionalidad y de tu pasaporte, por lo normal la instancia permitida es de 180 días máximo en territorio mexicano. Debido a que en los últimos tiempos ha habido muchos casos de visas vencidas y turistas que han permanecido en el territorio mexicamo mucho más de lo permitido, las autoridades están limitando la duración de los permisos a tiempos más cortos de 180 días. Será más fácil obtener los 180 días de permiso enseñando tus reservas de alojamiento para la duración completa de ese tiempo y tu vuelo de regreso para esa fecha. Como llegar a Bonobo
Tienes 3 opciones principales desde el aeropuerto:
- Tomar el taxi del aeropuerto al salir de la terminal: esta es la opción más rápida y también más cara. Costo: 350-500 pesos para el taxi completo.
- Tomar los colectivos del aeropuerto. Las encontrarás al salir de la terminal y son mas baratas que los taxis pero puede ser que se tarden hasta 45 minutos para llegar hasta Villa Bonobo, dependiendo de donde tengan que pararse los demás pasajeros. Costo: 50-100 pesos por persona.
- Al salir de la terminal camina hasta la carretera federal que se encuentra al terminar la bajada, 350 m aproximadamente. Ahí encontrarás taxis estacionados listos para salir a tu destinación por un costo de 250-300 pesos para el taxi completo.
Si llegas en colectivo pasando por las montañas tendrás que cambiar colectivo en Pochutla, de ahi lo mas conveniente es que no bajes hasta la terminal, ma que bajes antes de entrar al pueblo, sobre la federal a la altura del fraccionamiento Don Goyo, de ahí son 350m caminando hasta Villa Bonobo. Así te ahorrarás el taxi de regreso desde la terminal hasta aquí. Si tienes dudas donde bajar envía un mensaje a nuestra recepción para que te ayude con los detalles. El costo del bus de Pochutla a Puerto es de aproximadamente 70-120 pesos.
Desde el aeropuerto de Huatulco es mejor tomar un taxi a Bonobo, es alrededor de 2 horas en coche dependiendo del tráfico, por favor, póngase en contacto con nuestra recepción si necesita ayuda en la organización de un taxi para recogerle en el aeropuerto
1.Tomar un taxi justo afuera de la estación, puedes caminar al otro lado de la carretera o tal vez hasta el OXXO de enfrente para que ya estés en la dirección correcta cuando te subas al taxi. Costo: 120-180 pesos
2.Puedes caminar hasta el otro lado de la carretera y subir a una de las camionetas azules o “colectivo”. Asegúrate de que el colectivo tenga la escrita “La Barra” o “el cine” en la parte delantera, ya que esto significa que te llevarán hasta nuestra zona. El trayecto tardará 10-15 minutos y te bajarás en “el cine”. Tendrás que decirle al conductor que pare en el lugar correcto y preguntar en recepción si no estás seguro de dónde está. Luego tendrás que caminar unos 10 minutos para llegar al Bonobo. Coste: 10 pesos por persona.
Hay dos opciones principales para llegar a Bonobo:
- Tome un taxi directamente desde el lugar donde se aloja, es la opción más fácil pero la más cara y los precios pueden variar según la temporada y la disponibilidad.
- Tome un taxi o colectivo, de los que hacen la ruta costera, hasta la carretera federal, esto tomará entre 15 y 30 minutos dependiendo de donde usted está viajando. Una vez en la carretera federal a la altura de San Antonio pueden tomar un autobús de color blanco y azul. Una vez en el nuevo autobús es mejor no llegar hasta el centro de Puerto, puedes bajar en la autopista a la altura del Fraccionamiento Don Goyo o “Del Cinema” y desde allí serán 350 m hasta Bonobo. Esto le ahorrará tener que coger un taxi de vuelta desde el centro de la ciudad. Si no estás seguro, pregunta en recepción dónde bajarte. Costo del autobús de la carretera de Mazunte a Puerto: 50-100 pesos.
Servicios
El desayuno está incluido en todas las opciones de habitación si se aloja en Villa Bonobo. El desayuno se sirve todos los días entre las 9 y las 10 de la mañana.
El desayuno no está incluido si se aloja en los Bonobo Living Apartments, pero puede desayunar en Villa Bonobo por un suplemento de 150 pesos al día si lo desea.
El desayuno incluido cambia a diario y va desde huevos y pan tostado a enchiladas, pan francés. También hay siempre granola y cereales disponibles, así como café y una selección de tés.
Sí hay Wifi en toda la casa, es Wifi satelitar (Starlink) en Villa Bonobo y Wifi LAN en los Bonobo Living Apartments.
Todos los empleados de recepción hablan inglés y español.
No tenemos restaurante en las instalaciones, pero hay cocina y está abierta para que los huéspedes la utilicen en cualquier momento fuera del desayuno.
Sí. Nuestra señora de la limpieza Araceli creó su propio pequeño negocio y lava, seca y dobla tu ropa por 50 pesos el kilo, en su casa. Por favor deje su ropa antes de las 2pm en nuestra recepción (pregunte por la disponibilidad ya que depende del tiempo y la cantidad de ropa que ya tiene si puede hacerlo hasta el día siguiente). Por favor, tenga en cuenta que este servicio es externo y tiene que ser pagado a Araceli con dinero en efectivo (el cambio es muy bienvenido).
El champú y el acondicionador están incluidos y se pueden encontrar en todos los baños de la casa. También tenemos pasta de dientes y cepillos de dientes disponibles para su compra en la recepción.
Todas las habitaciones privadas en Villa Bonobo tienen una caja fuerte dentro de la habitación para objetos de valor. El dormitorio tiene cajones cerrables para sus objetos de valor, pero tendrá que traer su propio candado.
Bonobo Living B no tiene caja fuerte dentro del apartamento. Bonobo living A tiene una sola caja fuerte para todo el alojamiento.
La Zona
Estamos a 1KM de la playa La Punta y el paseo dura entre 12 y 20 minutos. La playa de Zicatela está aproximadamente a 4KM y se tarda 10 minutos en taxi.
El cajero automático más cercano está en el centro de la ciudad, a 10 minutos en taxi o colectivo. Recomendamos sacar dinero en efectivo antes de venir a Puerto Escondido, ya que no hay bancos en la zona de La Punta o Zicatela. Aunque se puede pagar con tarjeta en muchos lugares, es muy útil tener dinero en efectivo para actividades como el alquiler de tablas de surf y comer en restaurantes locales.
Es posible alquilar scooters y hay muchas opciones disponibles, desde pequeñas scooters de 100-150cc hasta motos de 250-300cc que puede utilizar para viajes largos. Solicite en recepción más información sobre el alquiler de scooters y motos. Todos los alquileres incluyen casco. Cuesta entre 250 y 500 pesos al día.
Se pueden alquilar coches en Puerto y hay algunas empresas que alquilan coches. El precio varía mucho según el tipo de coche. Recomendamos reservar un coche con antelación si desea utilizar esta opción, especialmente si viene en temporada alta.
Además de dinero en efectivo, le recomendamos que lleve una toalla para la playa. La crema solar es ideal, ya que el sol es muy fuerte en Puerto. El spray antimosquitos también es una buena idea, ya que hay muchos mosquitos en Puerto, ¡especialmente al atardecer!
Sí, le recomendamos que saque dinero en efectivo antes de venir a Puerto o en el centro antes de llegar al lado de La Punta. No hay cajeros automáticos cerca de La Punta y necesitarás dinero en efectivo para todas las excursiones o clases, así como para los taxis. También es más cómodo utilizar efectivo en los bares y discotecas, aunque en la mayoría de ellos ofrecen la posibilidad de pagar con tarjeta.
El supermercado más grande está en el pueblo, a unos 10 minutos en coche o moto. Hay una tienda de conveniencia OXXO a unos 3 minutos si necesitas comprar artículos de primera necesidad. También hay muchas tiendas de ropa y frutas y verduras a 1KM de distancia en La Punta.
El restaurante más cercano está a 2 minutos a pie, es un lugar muy básico con algunas opciones locales. La Punta, que está a 1KM tiene muchas opciones de bares y restaurantes de todo tipo y está a 15 minutos a pie o un corto trayecto en taxi. Las discotecas se encuentran todas en Zicatela y está a 10 minutos en taxi del alojamiento.
Opciones de Pago
Sólo aceptamos efectivo en Pesos Mexicanos y recomendamos sacar dinero antes de llegar a Puerto Escondido ya que los cajeros automáticos están en el centro del pueblo y a 10 minutos en coche o moto.
Aceptamos pagos a través de la plataforma Stripe para las principales tarjetas de crédito, no hay cargo extra por esta forma de pago. El pago se puede hacer mediante un enlace enviado al correo electrónico de su elección y se puede hacer en cualquier moneda de su elección.
Aceptamos las principales tarjetas de débito y crédito, excepto Maestro. Hay un cargo extra del 4,5% en todas las transacciones con tarjeta. A menos que hagas una transferencia directamente desde un banco mexicano, en cuyo caso no se aplicará ningún cargo extra.
Políticas y Reglas de la Casa
La entrada es a las 15:00, pero si su habitación está lista antes, se lo haremos saber y podrá entrar antes.
La salida en Villa Bonobo es a las 12pm.
La salida en los Bonobo Living Apartments es a las 11am.
Si sale demasiado tarde le cobraremos el 100% de la siguiente noche como multa, por favor asegúrese de estar a tiempo para el check out.
Estaremos encantados de recibirle a partir de las horas 10.30 en Villa Bonobo, donde podrá dejar su equipaje y utilizar nuestras instalaciones hasta que su habitación esté lista.
Villa Bonobo
El horario de silencio es de 22.00 a 8.00 horas.
Podrás utilizar la piscina si te mantienes en silencio, ya que no queremos molestar a las personas que duermen en esa area.
Si quieres pasar el rato y socializar después de las 10pm te invitamos a utilizar nuestra zona de la azotea donde se puede escuchar música baja también después de las 10pm.
Los miércoles y sábados abrimos nuestro bar en la azotea y la hora tranquila es después de la 1am.
Apartamentos Bonobo Living
La hora de silencio es a las 22:00.
¡Cuidamos a los vecinos!
Los externos pueden comprar un pase de un día para usar nuestras instalaciones de 10am – 8pm.
Cobramos 200$MX y esto incluye el uso de la piscina, baños, azotea y por supuesto nuestro increíble internet Starlink.
Los externos también pueden unirse a nuestro desayuno por 150$MX, que también incluye café o té. Por favor, háganoslo saber con antelación.
Si pierde la llave durante el día, perderá la fianza de 100 pesos abonada al inicio de su estancia. Si pierde la llave por la noche, entre las 20:00 y las 8:00, y un miembro del personal tiene que venir a la casa para abrirle, se añadirá una tarifa de 350 pesos a este importe.
Sí, admitimos perros, pero sólo después de un casting previo.
Por favor, háganos saber si planea traer a su mejor amigo y envíenos una foto.
Villa Bonobo
Admitimos dos perros pequeños o medianos en total en la propiedad.
No permitimos ningún tipo de Pitbull o perros similares en Villa Bonobo.
Cobramos 100$ MX por perro y noche.
Apartamentos Bonobo Living
Permitimos cualquier tipo de mascota en los departamentos (max. 2).

Cobramos un depósito de seguridad de 1000$ en total por su estancia, que le será devuelto el día de su salida. El depósito de seguridad debe ser pagado en efectivo.
Villa Bonobo es sólo para adultos. No aceptamos menores de 18 años.
En Bonobo Living Apartments permitimos niños de cualquier edad.
Por favor, cuide de sus pequeños, no nos hacemos responsables de cualquier daño que pueda ocurrir durante su estancia en la propiedad.
Le damos la oportunidad de arreglarlo y también podemos ayudarle con ello. Todo daño innecesario será cobrado.
